Conventional hot runner systems wear out, particularly due to sensitive titanium seals or outgassing caused by imperfect temperature control, leading to production interruptions and increased repair costs. The many individual components of conventional hot runner nozzles make assembly complicated and costly, so the systems are usually sent in for repair.

“We closely observed where conventional hot runner nozzles reach their limits,” says Dornseif. The analysis showed that too many wear parts, complex assembly processes, and short maintenance intervals lead to unnecessary downtime.
